Introduction

 Hello! My name is Muhjah Kashif, I’m currently 17 years old, living in islamabad, completing my last year of A’levels. I’m currently studying Media studies, Global perspectives, literature and Psychology. I also work as an actor ; I preformed in a drama, which aired on national television last year. I would like to say that my interest in media studies sparked after my experience on set last year. I became familiar with the practical side of media ; acting, preforming and filming, I then wanted to study the theoretical side, while also practising the practical aspect. 


Other than that, I love travelling, reading books, cooking, listening to music, hiking, art (painting, candle making and drawing) and I also enjoy acting. I’ve visited 5 countries so far ; Dubai, Turkey, Kuwait, England and Malaysia, and I plan on travelling to more European countries in the future.

Final Portfolio : Personal Contribution

Right from the beginning of this project, I took on most of the responsibilities. I was heading the production and was in charge of constructing most of the narrative. Firstly, I chose the song for the music video pitched the idea to Dua and Raaniya, after they both agreed, i got started on building up the plot. I wanted the storyline to have a twist and so i started brainstorming for ideas. After deciding when to film and deciding on a location to film, I made a group chat with 35 people. I sent a formal message on the group chat asking everyone who was available to join in and help me and my team out in this project. 15-17 people got back to me and confirmed that they'd be there. I then shortlisted everyone, and contacted one of my friends to rent their camera. I also rented a gimbal as well. Preliminary Task #1 : Music Video

  Our music video was on the song “Ikisvi Sadi” by ‘Biryani Brothers’, a Pakistani band formed by Natasha Noorani and Zahra Paracha in 2014. We chose this song as it’s a representation of Pakistani culture and language.  PLOT : The music video starts of with the actor, Muhjah (me) singing along to the lyrics, explaining how she feels like nobody understands her. There’s shots of me completely alone in a room, laying down on a sofa, looking out the window and sitting on a chair. Then we introduced the other character, Dua, who is basically my hallucination. Raaniya plays the roll of my mother. We show her scolding me and trying to explain something to me.
