Final Portfolio : Production Schedule and Shooting Days

[ Day 1 ]




Day 1 :
16th February 2025 
[ Farmhouse ]
To begin with, the first day of shooting was quiet hectic and stressful. I was mostly in charge of gathering people to play extras in the music video, and so a few days prior to the shoot, I made a group chat on whastapp and added a bunch of people and told my friends to add people they knew to it as well, moreover, dua and raaniya also added a lot of their friends to the group chat. The morning of the shoot I woke up to find out that many people had canceled and couldn't make it, and so I was busy the whole morning, making calls to confirm whether people were coming to the shoot or not. 

15 people confirmed that they'd be there, and so I moved on to making arrangements for what we might possibly need at the shoot. I packed a bag with my digital camera, extra makeup, wipes, and bandaids. I then got dressed and waited for dua and raaniya to pick me. 

We reached the location at 3:30 pm, and started setting up. We were filming at my friend daniyal's farmhouse and so he helped us out in decorating and setting things up. We blew up some balloons and put some bottles of coke and water as set dressing. Our friends started arriving by 4:30 which is when we decided to start filming. Dua and Raaniya started shooting solo shots of me, while everybody else were acting as extras. 

I mostly shot the scenes which didn't have me in them, while dua and raaniya shot the scenes with me in them. Everyone was enjoying the filming process and was cooperating really well. My friends followed my instructions quiet well and preformed really well too. 

We wrapped up by 7:00 pm which was also when it started raining. We finished filming right as it started pouring and then quickly packed our equipment up. Dua and raaniya went home while I stayed back at daniyal's house with a few other of my friends and had dinner at his house. And that concluded the first day of filming. 


Day 2 :
18th February 
[ My house ] 
I had to film some scenes on my own as it was difficult for dua and raaniya to come over and help me. I set up RGB strip lights in my bedroom and propped my phone up against a table to film myself. It took my an hour in total as my phone kept falling over, but I concluded the solo shoot.



Day 3 : 
19th February 2025 
[ My House ] 
My team and I decided to film my solo shots at my house. Dua and Raaniya arrived around 2 pm. We got started on planning the series of shots we had to film, and I also got started on my makeup. By 2:30 we started filming. We shot my solos and then started to glue the pictures on my wall. (Raaniya got the pictures printed before she came to my house.) After spending 20 minutes gluing the pictures, we started shooting more scenes. Dua had to leave early around 5:00 pm, and so Raaniya and and I continued filming till 7:00 pm.

Final Portfolio : Personal Contribution

Right from the beginning of this project, I took on most of the responsibilities. I was heading the production and was in charge of constructing most of the narrative. Firstly, I chose the song for the music video pitched the idea to Dua and Raaniya, after they both agreed, i got started on building up the plot. I wanted the storyline to have a twist and so i started brainstorming for ideas. After deciding when to film and deciding on a location to film, I made a group chat with 35 people. I sent a formal message on the group chat asking everyone who was available to join in and help me and my team out in this project. 15-17 people got back to me and confirmed that they'd be there. I then shortlisted everyone, and contacted one of my friends to rent their camera. I also rented a gimbal as well. Preliminary Task #1 : Music Video

  Our music video was on the song “Ikisvi Sadi” by ‘Biryani Brothers’, a Pakistani band formed by Natasha Noorani and Zahra Paracha in 2014. We chose this song as it’s a representation of Pakistani culture and language.  PLOT : The music video starts of with the actor, Muhjah (me) singing along to the lyrics, explaining how she feels like nobody understands her. There’s shots of me completely alone in a room, laying down on a sofa, looking out the window and sitting on a chair. Then we introduced the other character, Dua, who is basically my hallucination. Raaniya plays the roll of my mother. We show her scolding me and trying to explain something to me.
