Final Portfolio Planning : Costumes and Makeup

The main focus was on 4 characters in total : Muhjah, Mishmal, Atlas and Daniyal 


Muhjah Khan --->

Muhjah - The protagonist (me) had a very neutral look. I was dresses in a simple black dress paired with a pair of black converse shoes. My hair was left straight and my makeup consisted of a natural toned look. I wore glittery eyeshadow on my eyes and an almost nude pink lipstick. This portrays the simplicity of my character and how the sadness from her heartbreak left her wearing something simple and not as attention drawing 


There is an almost dramatic change in my look when I'm preforming by myself. This symbolises the change within the protagonist when she begins to catch feelings for someone new. My makeup is more dark and sharp in this scene. My clothes however, are still black. My hair is also more wavy and slightly messy showcasing the emotional turmoil my character is going through. 


Mishmal Khan ---> 


Mishmal is dressed in all black, similar to the protagonist. However, her character's look is more vibrant and colourful. The blue eyeshadow and the rhinestones add a whimsical touch to her character. This effectively mirrors the dullness of the protagonist's look in the first half of the music video. Her look overall also reflects the overall dreamy feel of the music video. 



Atlas Butt --->

Atlas' character wore all black as well. He was dressed in all black to show his connection to both the protagonist and mishmal's character. 


Daniyal Mushir --->

Daniyal's character was dressed a little differently compared to everyone else. He was dressed in dark colors but in more blue tones than black. This symbolises his difference from Atlas' character.

Final Portfolio : Personal Contribution

Right from the beginning of this project, I took on most of the responsibilities. I was heading the production and was in charge of constructing most of the narrative. Firstly, I chose the song for the music video pitched the idea to Dua and Raaniya, after they both agreed, i got started on building up the plot. I wanted the storyline to have a twist and so i started brainstorming for ideas. After deciding when to film and deciding on a location to film, I made a group chat with 35 people. I sent a formal message on the group chat asking everyone who was available to join in and help me and my team out in this project. 15-17 people got back to me and confirmed that they'd be there. I then shortlisted everyone, and contacted one of my friends to rent their camera. I also rented a gimbal as well. Preliminary Task #1 : Music Video

  Our music video was on the song “Ikisvi Sadi” by ‘Biryani Brothers’, a Pakistani band formed by Natasha Noorani and Zahra Paracha in 2014. We chose this song as it’s a representation of Pakistani culture and language.  PLOT : The music video starts of with the actor, Muhjah (me) singing along to the lyrics, explaining how she feels like nobody understands her. There’s shots of me completely alone in a room, laying down on a sofa, looking out the window and sitting on a chair. Then we introduced the other character, Dua, who is basically my hallucination. Raaniya plays the roll of my mother. We show her scolding me and trying to explain something to me.
